Have had the bike a year and was wondering what the cost might be for a few problems i have and how many i can rectify myself with a basic knowledge, have a mate who can help with a little more experience.

The stand is broken, still useable but need a tin can to park it in most places to stand it up.

The left foot rest has bent right up making it impossible to change the gears unless i put my foot underneath and pust the lever up.

Electric start and speedo no longer work.

How many of these are easy fixes and or necessary to pass an MOT.

Apart from the above it's perfect Smile

Thanks

lol the way i stopped my footpeg from being so high up was slam a sledge hammer down on it untill it was in the right place

proabbaly speedo cable ? £10

hmm could be a few things for the starter, does it turn over when you cross the solenoid turmenals ? might be worth taking it off and taking it apart and cleaning it,maybe even replace the brushes

is it the centre or side stand ? you could probs get one off ebay for £15 or get it welded

I thought that but didn'd want it to snap off, worth a try though.

the speedo still records mileage and the dial is in the same position so could it be something else?

The starter is just dead, solenoid? lol i aint that experienced, perhaps the battery?

it only has one stand, if i got one off ebay are they easy to replace?

Cheers

well even if you did snap it off, there like a tenner on ebay

the stand should be easy to swap over as long as the pivot bolt ain't seized like mine was,a right ball ache having to saw it off.

thats the solenoid,if you cross the 2 bolts on it with a screw driver (watch out for sparks) and it turns over, then you'll know if its the switch on the bars messed up or not, check the fuse in the solenoid aswell its a 20A.

how olds the battery ?

Thanks for that, and the link Smile

I haven't changed it and done 6000 miles in a year, not sure before that..16,000 miles on the clock
