Cookery for ravers

It's my daughter's birthday today, so mrsgixer has taken her (and the rest of the junior gixers) out to 'Toys 'R' Us' so she can spend all the birthday money which was burning a hole in her pocket.

It's rare to have the place to myself, and although i had the daughter's slap up birthday tea to prepare i thought i'd enjoy myself with a bit of musical accompaniment.

Whilst looking through a box of old cassettes the other day (some of our younger members may need to google what one is), i'd come across an old taping of an AWOL rave* from the early '90s. So, i popped it in the stereogram and cranked the volume up to 11.

Within a minute or 2 i was leaping around the kitchen like a proper hardcore junglist nutter, and as i brushed oil & salt onto the rind of the 4KG pork shoulder, peeled and chopped the spuds and battened some carrots, i interspersed it with regular involuntary shouts of 'Bad Bwoy', 'Oh my Gosh', 'Rinse it' and 'Reeee-wind', i also pushed up my (imaginary) lighter, blew my (imaginary) horn and even mimed (quite) a few gunshots as i skipped, hopped and generally bounced about.

After a little while i got the itchy feeling on the back of my neck - you know, the one you get when someone is watching you make a prick of yourself.

I looked over the fence to spot my neighbour watching me with a big smirk on her face as she pottered around the garden in some old clothes. (My neighbour, by the way, is very much the dictionary definition of MILF). She saw i'd seen her, gave me a wave, a cheeky grin and then followed up my humiliation with a couple of mimed gunshots, before getting back to her gardening.
