Disabling an alarm

I have an alarm/immobilizer on the bike with a keyfob however I was looking for a way to disable it so not use for the keyfob, however I would still like the ability of using it if i was to go somewhere else.

Any suggestioins

Well my alarm works but do not want it to work as it is a pain in the arse enabling it / disabling it as on and off the bike a lot round the town and around here i do not need to worry about alarms etc.

But if i was to go a run to say dunno the Bronx then i would like to have it enabled.

The alarm itself can only be turned of for 10 hours at a time then it re enables itself

Just bear with it. Only way i can think is to just disconnect the alarm altogether till you want it on.

If you have an alarm/immobiliser, most of them don't activate the alarm unless you press the button on the fob once you get off. They just automatically immobilise instead

not so meta you have to press to make active datatool once the key is out of the ignition the alarm rearms itself.........which annoyed me esp when filling up...

I have no problem with this post per say but I find that by giving details like this kind of info (how to bypass an alarm with out the fob) also I have seen others on here like what is the best metal cutter for a chain ??? are we giving advice to people who could nick our bikes or somebody elses ???
I know some are genuine in asking for advice but come on are not some who are theives asking the best way to nick a bike ??

So pressing one button to disable the alarm is a pain ?

Putting the key in and twisting it must be a right old nightmare.

I have Datatool and it doesnt bother me. Call it ghey but theres something nice about pressing the fob buttons and the indicators flash to let you know the bikes alarm has swiched off.

The thing is that sensitive that when the bike is stood upright when armed it goes off. It goes off if I forget and put the key in and go to start it.

I got over the stopping for fuel and the alarm going on by getting a spare key cut and keeping it sepperate. On my bike key I have my fob and nothing else. On my house keys I have a spare key for the opening of the tank whilst sitting on the bike. I just kill the engine with the kill switch and open the tank with the spare key.

But then I pay at the pump as much as I can.

I have a routine, which sounds elaborate but has become second nature.

Pull up at pump
Key off
Take key out
Open filler cap
Alarm arms
Use fob to disable motion sensor
Fill tank
Close cap
Get off, go and pay
Back to bike, disarm alarm, key in, off I go.

I've never had Ariel's bike there at all. The feeling of loss is immeasurable.

I've a datatool alarm too, i like the way it arms itself without me having to do anything.

Park it, pull the key out and walk away.
Walk back and turn the fuel tap off.

Mine was a cat 4 datatool alarm like some of the above so the whole thing armed itself once the key was removed in about 20 sec
