did my cbt today,

and wow it was alot more fun that i thought it would be
was riding a 125 'superbyke' and despite it being chinese it was a nice enough ride and was plenty forgiving :p

started off abit slow getting used to gears and clutch control but it was a real good ride in the afternoon, despite not going any faster than i would on my moped.. So much more engaging and lovely not accelating to a pathetic whine ;D

the instructor suggested a day training before mod 1 then another before mod2 so they're gonna contact me and then we'll see how i go.

Definetly waaaaaaaay more fun than learning to drive, but perhaps that comes from the independent riding situation.

I wish everyone would do a CBT - it really opens your eyes to the issues that bikers face.

haha there was abit too much blah blah, some of it helpful some of it not.. Plenty of vroom vroom but definetly not enough!!

was a helpful experience, apart from getting to grips with gears, developed my road positioning and observations haha

Well done that man . Your next mission is to get out as much as you can on the scooter and practice everything you've been taught. Practice the life savers, mirror checks and slow control. It will give you a little more help for the bike test.

You wont get the feel as much without the gearing but it will give you some added road sense which is great for test day.

Atm i'm thinking a bigger bike restricted, but i'll see how i get on with the schools 125 for now :p
gonna do a couple of days training and then do the a2 to get my restriction ticking down (y)
today was first time on a geared bike above 50cc haha :p

Good luck with that. A bigger bike restricted will certainly give you much more choice and seems the obvious way to go. Mind you, insurance might be a bitch, unless you go third party only.

yeah i'll see how i get on, after today i could see myself getting by with a 125 but if i'm doing my test and feel comfortable i may aswell have a look at something bigger..
I'll likely be tpft or tpo for insurance.. Which was sub £350 for the 4 bikes i'm looking at, and have been advised to use a different comparison site which brings in cheaper quotes apparently haha
