Hi

Anyone know of a standard silencer for an RS50 going cheap? For the model with the single sided swinging arm.

The one on there has been played with and is a tad loud.

All the best

Keith

I don't know of anyone who has one but try www.apriliaforum.com.

Your bound to get someone to point you in the right direction for one.

If you can't find one second hand, try Speedaway. There number is on their website, www.speedaway.com.
Their website will say they've got nothing in stock but it doesn't get updated very regularly, so give them a ring.

I was looking for one for my RS but had no luck. The closest one I found was in America so I said no basically.

Good luck in finding one.

I've got a spare silencer lying around under the bed. not sure it would fit. but isn't standard.
Might be quieter than the other one...

Hi

I do use the Aprilia forum but haven't posted anything about that RS50 on there yet.

Anything would be quieter than what is on there are the moment, including an amplifier.

Probably needs to be an original one really.

If they are £55 new then that is not too bad. Failing that I will shove a cork up the exhaust.

All the best

Keith

Its https://www.speedaway.co.uk by the way

I had the one with the single sided swing arm, mine was the chesterfield 95 model.

Delivery is quick, next day on some parts and their all official Aprilia parts.

Is it the original down pipe? Usually the standard ones are full up with a catalytic converter AFAIK. An after-market one would be hollow, slightly larger capacity expansion chamber which would make more noise.

It's £55 for a 2000 model end can but not sure If its any different than the older model.
I can give them another ring If you like.

Hi

Don't worry, £55 is close enough. It is around a 2000 model.

Speedaway are the closest Aprilia dealer to where I work.

I suspect there is nothing inside the "silencer" on there at the moment.

All the best

Keith
