hi guys, i did a top end engine rebuild on my peugeout trekker today and want to make sure its not running lean Smile

Reading that link was good but then its get confusing when it says:

Why Hot and Cold Sparkplugs? Using a hotter or colder sparkplug can be just the fix to an engine problem. Very basely, if your motorcycle engine is running hot then try using a colder plug, if it is running hot try a colder plug.

Huh?!

If you run the wrong grade plug, it can lead to pre-ignition - basically the electrode of the plug glows and ignites the fuel too early. Going for a cooler plug means it takes more heat to to get to this point. If you go too cool, then there won't be enough heat in it to burn off the soot/oil. It is a fine line between the two. Generally speaking, you would only want to change one grade - one way or the other - to get desired effect. e.g. if you were running a 9, you probably won't need more than a 10 or less than an 8 ...

It has nothing to do with mixture ...
