i have a 96 honda ace 1100 and looking to do an upgrade. i want to know if there is a higher hp engine available in either recon or new condition that i could swap in to this with not too much fuss in order to add a bit more zip to it. any ideas?

Eaton M45 or another small cheap blower would be the best way i would think to get that engine to make alot more power.

I don't think Honda make many bigger cc V-twin engines that make much if any more power, and are cheaply available secondhand. It's often a case with big cruiser type engines, that more cc's does not equate to much more performance or bhp, but just a more lazy delivery and more vibes.

You'd get far more power with a performance V-twin engine like a VTR or SP1/2 engine, but i doubt that these would fit into your bikes frame easily?

Yeah.. there's nothing that would fit the bill without major surgery to the bike and significant expense that you'd never be able to redeem.

Either buy a more sporty bike (e.g. Firestorm), or if you really feel the need for a fast cruiser, save up lots of pennies for something like a Yam V-max, HD V-Rod or Guzzi Griso.
