Hi guys
I recently bought a cbf500 on the way back home it was okay then a few days later i noticed a small amount of water on the bottom where it stood, took no notice till i went to wales with a friend yesterday where while riding i looked down at my boot to discover it covered with an oily water stopped had a look and noticed the rad was leaking! everytime i rev the engine some coolant squirts out so at the next petrol station used some rad weld and added some more water to it managed to get back home so i got a dilemma here

anyone know where to buy a used cbf500 radiator from? ive rang a few breakers but none have stock also rang a radiator repair place but im not sure about if a repair would last??? anyone ever had a rad repaired and did it last? ive been looking at this since the rad is so exposed to protect it

anyone know of a cheaper alternative to keep stone chips out of the way?

cheers all Thumbs Up

I wanted one for my old fazer, but didn't like the new price much. I found a Beowulf in the end for about £40. I would of thought you may see a few used if you keep hunting.

I've seen some home made that look bloody good, takes a bit of patience though, more than I've got! Laughing

You can get them repaired and if done by somone proper will last.
I would have thought that a rad for such a bke would be easy to find.

hi lads

some pics

i took the rad to a repair company today they said they should be able to cut the bottom part where it seems it was previously repaired off since if they just cut the affected small area the leak will most likely spread to the other part so they are gonna cut the whole bottom row off, the guy said it should still work as it should? im not sure if hes got as much experience with motorcycle rads or if hes talking about car rads would this still be okay? for £25 i didnt moan.

Vincent do you still have that rad? Thumbs Up

Also *STUPID QUESTION ALERT*

When i put new coolant in can I use car coolant or does it have to be motorcycle coolant only?
