Signed, for all the good it will do. The problem is getting them to look in the first place.

Signed it. Very harrowing story.

I'm doubtful the English-led government will give two shits, but I sincerely hope that the petition makes a difference.

I mean that.

What's harrowing about it?

All we know is, bloke goes for a ride with his girl on the back, collides with a bus and ends up dead; isn't that a part of daily biking life?

Until we know the full story (which would have to absolve the biker of any blame whatsoever and prove, beyond any doubt, that the bus driver needed extra mirrors to see him) I hope this petition doesn't lead to yet another bit of pointless legislation.

It'll go nowhere, especially if it's being spammed as aggressively as it has been here.

But the worst case is that it costs maybe £50 per bus and HGV that doesn't already have full mirror coverage (i.e. a few miles' fuel) and turns the "I couldn't see you" excuse into the "I didn't see you" self incrimination.

Hi,

Please do not post multiple posts which are the same in different sections.

Might as well keep all the discussion to the one that has the most responses?

Coming back to this sober, I'll have to admit that this petition's a bad idea for the reasons given by Shaft and Roger.
95% chance it won't see the light of day, but even if it did it isn't likely to change the driving habits of motorcycles or buses/HGVs alike.
The diesel/oil that buses regularly shit out all over the road is more hazardous. Maybe should do something about that instead.

A girl at work told me a HGV run her off the motorway destroying her ford KA, so it's not jsut motorcyclists that are affected, she had heard of this petition before aswell, so it's been done once before seemingly

Personally i just stay the fuck away from big trucks and treat them as a giant hazard, accident waiting to happen

Just take into account they cant see shit with your riding...they should really, changing lane when you don't know if someones next to you is dumbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb
