Can't be arsed to do a search, so please don't start...

Anyway, I'm moving house tomorrow morning, and since it happens to be the season where everything grinds to a halt, I doubt very much that I'll be getting broadband installed until after the New Year.

In the meantime, can people recommend some cost-effective and non-contract based dial-up services for me to use?

Cheers,

You could try and find a free Eh Oh Hell disk with 100 hours free somewhere. Confused
Other than that then there is freeserve, Bt, Tiscali...

I occasionally use Virgin when my Broandband goes down, or for testing stuff at work etc. Has been fine so far, though I've only used it occasionally.
This is the 0845 number, rather than a 'anytime' package.

I use Yahoo! Dial Up if my broadband goes down for an extensive amount of time.

Details should be on www.yahoo.co.uk, its free (although, 0845 fun...) and no-sign up needed Smile.

If you want a pay monthly 0800 I'd go with Freeserve or BT anytime. Forget AOL their service and their software is appalling.

Hi

We use cheapnet, which allows you to log in with no userid / password / account / etc. Just a standard local phone call number. Acts as a fair backup for BT.

All the best
