Hurray, another biker.
Doing his cbt in a few weeks and needs a bike. Fuel prices and his BMW 323ci don't go too well!

Where can we find a decent runaround 125 for anything from £100 > £500?

Keep an eye on the usual places, ebay, biketrader, possibly gumtree just watch out for scams.

Use that £100-£500 on petrol then he doesn't have to ride around on a grotty bike, a 125 at that.

You on the right forum?

If you want a 125 to learn on and commute on dont spend any more - if you drop it you wont cry, if its nicked its not the end of the world and when you do your test and sell it you wont loose much

My CG cost £200, plus another £100 to get it through an MOT (including the test fee!) and tax it. Another £100 for insurance, £50 for a helmet, £10 for a used but mint textile jacket, £12 for waterproof trousers and a full tank of petrol for £13.

Completely on the road for £485.

My bike might have a few knocks, and retro would be a kind way to describe the styling but measured in 'smiles per pound' id say cheap bikes are amazing value

I'm considering selling my RXS100 for around £400. Not sure if an old stroker fits the bill, but I thought I'd put it out there. Got about 32k or something on the clocks. In Southampton.

i bought a cg125 from a dealer, just ring around for banger p/x's it took about 20 phone calls though. got it for £400 m.o.t'd and taxed it for £15 spent about £30 making it pretty and sold it for £580 on ebay.

the bargains are out there. buy a mechanically sound but grotty looking bike and spend a few man hours on the thing to prettify it. sell for profit all good Thumbs Up

Id happily loan him the CBR, but has a new engine.
Also same with the RS, but its a time bomb!

RXS100, talk to me... pics? i'll forward to him, would drive to s/hampton to get it too!

Good nick? MOT/Tax.

Ive had a look, few CB125TDE's, CGs and the like.. all fairly low starting prices, set to go sky high! Aiming low prices as I bought my 1st one and that was £600, never had a problem! Tending to stay Jap though as its a run around commuter!

At the moment I need to think about money unfortunately. And I've got the Bros to keep running amongst other financial strains. I'll be doing some touring on the Bros for sure. But the RXS is going to have to go, as much as it breaks my heart.
