Excel centre again! I am probably going on Friday or Sunday.

Finally going on a bigger bike than my old RS125! Last year a guy that was advertising trackdays came up to me and said interested? I see you and your friends are all leathered up, here's my card.

I was too embarassed to say we are all on 125's Sad LOL.

I need some new gloves! Maybe braided hose lines or whatever they are called.

Why are all these bike shows at a time of year when snow/ice/rain are highly likely?

MCN/bmf etc

Most likely they happen in the cold weather because people will not be riding out much and maybe have saved some money?

NEC before X mas, and the Excel is after the end of the month and also I guess before summer.

Maybe old stock can be gotten rid of aswell after the sales?

Anyway, hope to meet some of you!

Hi

Afraid not. Can't be bothered going that far into London (Ally Pally was about the limit) for a small bike show.

All the best

They do them in winter because it helps the dealers/shops exhibiting to keep going through the quiet period when there are few sales

Looks like I am coming on Sunday with a few work colleagues.

I guess no one is bothered here, would have been nice to meet some of you. As for the show, yes I get disapointed each year, but I always go, it helps bike stores make some money and I save a few quid for good quality products. Also talking to some of the guys is a good experience, you get to see people who you may have talked to or bought things on line too!

Kinda far but a good place to take photo's, the DSLR stuff I see here each year is really good, and well, I dunno, it's a day out and not all day outs are great!

See you if I see you!

Not that I'm trying to convince you or anything, cos yeah it is only a "small" bike show ... but its only *just* off the North Circ. Bit further round from Ally Pally turnoff (?Tottenham?Enfield) and then one stop down the A13.

So not really any further in.
Just more sorta, round, really.

I know this, cos its on me doorstep Very Happy

No, MinhDinh, I am prolly *not* going.
But I might be in the park at the bottom of the road, with me dog at some point, if you (or anybody else) happened to flit past and wanna say hello.

I'll only go to the park if I am promised a hug and maybe if you squeeze my bum.

Take it or leave it honey, I am not chasing you any more!

Excel is massive, do they even come close to filling it?

Meg really. The Excel shows always been a bit lame. Seem to be fewer and fewer bargains at shows nowadays.

^^no, and it appears to be getting smaller each year. I may go, but purely to go and argue with insurers and get an awesome price, as my renwal is due then, and they seem to be able to get really good deals at a show.

Last year I managed to get them to drop £200 and add 'drive any other bike' onto the policy. Was worth the entry fee for that - which was lucky as there was sod all else!

I was at the boat show there last week, we have a saying in that industry of 'show price' is +10% retail!

Shows don't tend to be what they were, the last days always used to be a scramble to get the deals as the guys were packing up. Now, most of the exhibitors are just retailers who pack it all up and stick it back on the shelf in their shops.

I suppose if you're in the market for a new bike, I guess it gives you the option of seeing them all in one place rather than having to drive/ride for miles.

I'll be there on the Sunday, went to the ally pally last year and wasn't massively impressed with it, so thought I'd give this one a try, only in Essex anyway so not exactly far for me.

Does anyone know the deal with disabled parking at this one? Was free at the Ally Pally but worth checking out if it'll be the same, because I have heard that the general parking charges are ridiculous.

Would go on the bike, but looking to maybe pick uip a new one piece, and getting that home in a rucksack isn't really an option!

Wear it home? Put your other clothes in a sports bag and bungee to back seat.

The bike parking was good last year - free, lots of room and indoors. Show was crap though. Mr. Green

This is possible, however, will probably work out more hassle than it's worth, it's mostly dual carriageways down there, not the most exciting ride ever, I'm running silly soft tyres that I'm trying to avoid squaring off, plus if I end up picking up new boots etc things will get interesting...

Plus my mate has a proper gammy leg; if he rides down there he'll have problems walking around for the first hour or so.

Might do, if it's a proper sunny day I'll consider it, but other than that the van will be easier. Then home and out to play on some proper roads...
