Twice a year, I do a strip down service to my bike to clean and maintain it and check everything over.

I am doing mine next weekend. I have a small budget to get some de greasers, cleaners and paint.

Now does anyone know of any really strong good degreasers. Stuff I can spray on, leave for a bit, come back and spray off with a hose and all the grease and crap falls off.

Basically any strong cleaning sprays I can get off egay or other website.

Cheers.

Karma to all who help.

GUNK. https://i623.photobucket.com/albums/tt314/clancy_07/R691088-02.jpg

best stuff by far i have found. the spray is about £5 the drums vary in price but obviously you cant spray. it will get anything off in a bout 2 minutes. just dont get it on anything plastic because it will fade it pretty quick, will be fine on the engine hoses etc. its what i use and is very good.

what sort of paint you after?

may have to clean my bike this weekend.....

petrol and gunk are the best, muck off is okay, but if you know any farmers then they genrally have spastic agricultural cleaners and degreasers in 20 gallon drums...

Unless you put them in a pump-spray bottle. Supermarket, 99p shop, or ask the wife where she keeps the household cleaning stuff. Also, where's your steak and chips?

Ordering some TFR which looks very good and a spray can of gunk.

I will get some paraffin for the future though so I can leave stuff in it.

Get the Gunk in a tin, and apply with a paintbrush or somethink like that, it agitates the grease/crap and it works so much better.

Toothbrushes are good too! as mentioned keep of plastics!

Use any water based cleaner (Muc Off / A.G Motorcycle cleaner) onto a wet surface, then spray on a coating of WD40 and it will strip all grime off.

I use Muc Off and with a brush and a fleixible brush thing, it worked pretty well when I let it soak into the grease etc...

Pressure washer after the brushing and it's all good!
