I'm getting really fed up with this bike now.

Again still issues with the 2002 R6. After putting the serviced carbs back on the bike, it still runs like a pig, with major hesitation at 4000rpm.

But while balancing carbs (airbox off), I noticed that when I was revving it, that it was spitting fuel out of the top of all 4 carbs in a mist.

I've checked valve clearances and all are fine.

Is this normal for a 2002 R6 to be spitting fuel out of the carbs? What else should I be looking at. Really hoping I don't need to take the head off to do valve work Sad

Out of the TOP of the carbs? Confused

Where exactly? There shouldn't really any fuel at all in the top chamber of the carbs, that's the venturi chamber and it should have a slight vacuum in it. It also doesn't have a hole in it for fuel to be spat out of. Makes me wonder if what you're referring to as the top and what I'd think of as the top are two different things.

Were the vacuum stubs connected to the balancer at the time?

If any fuel leaks form carbs it's normally as a result of float chamber filling up. Either because needle valves have a bit of shit in em, or the floats heights are not adjusted correctly.

By top I assume you mean airbox side intake, if any fuel mixtures building up there the timing has to be out.
You could have splits in any of this lot which will affect power.
This may have occured when they were taken out for the carbs to be sorted. Worth a good look.

Fuel is coming out in a dense mist, through venturi's and out of the trumpets. Valve clearances and timing is ok. Local garage think it's the needle valves, so they've got my carbs for a few days to take a look.
