Depends what you want to do John.

Basic editing pinnacle Studio is fine (thats what I used for the mini moto crashes video and bendy also uses it a lot too), for more complex stuff theres things like adobe premiere.

adobe premieres good, but Movie Maker 2 which comes standard with WinXp is the best for fun.

I was quite pleased with my end result from using windows movie maker. The editing is simple and can do suprisingly a few things if you use it properly. Although even with video quality wasn't so good (even on high quality). But thats more down to what codec you use.

I use pinnacle studio 8.

It's brilliant! It's meant for capturing straight from a DV camera and then edit it all, BUT if you just get yourself a Video Capture card you can capture the videos onto your hard drive and import them into your movie..

It's got a built in automatic music maker which lets you create backing music to genres you specify.

It comes complete with TitleDeko, which is the dogs bollocks for title editing! It's got all different text effects and even lets you create your own.

The movie can be output into loadsa different formats including WindowsMediaVideo, RealVideo, Mpeg, AVI.. PLUS it also lets you burn straight onto DVD or VCD with customized menus..

By far the best package i've used.

There are a few others i've played about with such as Adobe Premier, but I did find a LOAD of problems with it.

I got myself a DV camera from Firebox.com and Adobe didn't support the input video (even though it said it did)

Windows Movie Maker which comes with XP has been the one I have used mostly though. It's really easy to use and is quite fun. The best thing about WMM is that It's FREE. (But thinking bout it, so is Pinnacle Studio if u have Kazaa) Wink

I'll be putting some videos on my site soon which I've made with pinnacle, and also Windows Movie Maker, so u can judge which is the best urself..

Dave
