First off, you're looking for off road tyres in small sports road bike kinda sizes. That's of course going to limit what's available.
Don't try to look for an exact match; off-road the profile doesn't matter so much anyway.
Obviously have to keep the rim size, then try and find something about right for the width.
The rear should be ok, as quite a few slightly softer off-roaders have a 17 rear.
The front, you may have to use something like the rear from a 85cc (I think they have a 17 rear on the big wheel ones?)

nsr offroad?
Wont really work, and knobblies on the road are wank. Ground clearance is the main issue

If it isn't too sloppy, should be ok, but you do need grip as they're rather lacking in low power, so need to be revved which tends to spin it up if there's no traction.
Of course the riding position is far from ideal as standard too.
But of course it may well be for something else, a project, etc.

Sorry should have said earlier, hitting my supermoto off road alot lately and seem to be falling behind due to my tyres being slick type.
