ok i have been meaning to start this post for a few weeks now but just haven't got around to it.
i got the bike about 6 months ago if not longer and just left it around the back of the shed for the first 3 months while i decided what to do with it as it was in such a shit state.
i only paid £200 for it but that was probably £195 to much.
unfortunately i dont have any picks of what it was like when i picked it up but betnk (or whatever his name is) can back me on how bad it was.
when i had decided to go ahead with the build with the intensions of using it for green laning the first thing was to send the engine off to have a full rebuild from top to bottom, while the engine was away i prept and painted the frame taking care to mask around the frame number so the DVLA dont give me any crap at the end of the build.
soon the engine came back (and a few hundred pound lighter) and was put back where it belongs.

next job was to clean the carb and after 20 or so years of getting cover in allsorts it came up ok.

after

next job was to sort the swing arm, so the shock was sent off and the swing arm cleaned up

Ah the classic disassemble and scrub rebuild. Without doubt the most demoralising of them all as the prospect of getting filthy dirty outside in the cold leads to the temptation to a "that'll do" attitude to the build... we with me it does anyway Laughing

I salute your efforts thus far and hope you keep it up!

i am trying to hold off the "that'll do" attitude not because i have lost interest or dont want to get dirty,
its just the money side of things, its had a lot put into it and you have to ask the question where do you stop.
