Really getting more into Beth Hart at the moment. What a fabulous singer she is. Coupled with Joe Bonamassa's guitar especially, she's an artist I find myself wanting hear more from.

Oh right, thanks for the tip.
Jeff Beck is an artist I've rather taken my time in getting to know, but his work is growing on me more and more lately too, so I certainly will look for that pairing, cheers  
Currently got a live performance by the Tedeschi Trucks band playing - some very good work on this. Some of the tunes are a bit, er, extended, but I think I'm going to be looking more into them too.

Yes, it took me a while to really appreciate what Beck is about.
I've taken the trem. arm off my Strat to force me to work more on my vibrato technique - I got into the way of thinking that some guitarists overuse it (came from some people in the 80s I think). But Beck is one guy who can be forgiven for it - just the right touch, and used in such an...innovative? way. Nobody else has that skill and subtlety with it.
I've got a live gig dvd of Beth and Joe - really excellent.
I also haven't checked out SRV releases for some time, and have found there are some interesting compilations of his work with other artists now available. I can see my bank stumping up for a few purchases soon

I don't think that's really my kind of thing.
Also, I think I'm more receptive to new (to me) things in the evenings - that's when I put the headphones on and just lose myself in music (damn, I wish I had access to the weed! ).
Last night I finally got around to checking out an album I've had for years but never got around to, dismissing it on a first listen - the Bees; Wash in the Rain was the well-known track that drew me to give them a spin, but they didn't otherwise click. But last night, I kind of saw something in some other tracks on that album. Still not entirely convinced - some seems a bit obvious where they were trying to take it, but I think I might look a little closer now.

I've got quite a bit of music in my collection that I haven't yet paid close attention to.
Feck me, but that last track was depressing! From a live album of Jack Bruce with Robin Trower. I can only imagine that Bruce had been sat by his window as he wrote it, looking out at another cold, wet, miserable Scottish day, having just found out that his dog had drowned in a loch or something.
So that's that one unchecked, never to be played again!
