"Hallowed Be Thy Name" from Iron Maiden came up on the mix yesterday. I haven't heard that one in years, and had forgotten how good it is. Definitely marked as a favourite. That's the Iron Maiden I love!

Oh yeah that's a great track. Best on NotB LP imo. My fave Bruce song.

Anyone noticed Suicide Blonde, by INXS on the radio recently? I've heard it twice in the last week, which is the first time since the untimely, er, demises of both Michael Hutchence and his squeeze Paula Yates. Haven't heard it played for years which is a great pity as it's such a brilliant track.

I assumed it's re-emergence was because the current programme producers probably weren't even born when Hutchence topped himself and so I daresay aren't aware of the obvious embargo on the song. But then I heard that this week is apparently the 20th anniversary of his death, so maybe it's now allowed again...

I was reading an article about Grammy nominations, and I saw a pic of a guy called "Childish Gambino" who is nominated.

I thought it looked strangely like Donald Glover, who I know from my favourite comedy TV show, Community (He's also going to be Lando Calrissian in the upcoming Han Solo: A star wars story). Turns out, it IS Donald Glover, and he's one of those annoyingly talented people who appears to be good at everything he tries.

I listened to some of his tracks on Spotify, and was rather impressed. It's mostly hip hop, but it's good hip hop and I quite enjoyed it. If this was still the CD era I'd probably not buy it, (Hip hop is not really my thing, and it has to be really REALLY good to hold my attention) but as I'm paying for Spotify anyway it's well worth a listen or two.

Wow okay yeah - didn't know that either! Did see me mention community on the tv box sets thread day before yesterday or whenever? Anyway, I said it was my favourite telly programme. Troy is ace - well, they all are. But troy and abed especially - I was a bit pissed off when he left the series in iirc the fourth season, i.e. went off w/ geordie laforg in a yacht. On the road. Wasn't so sad to see chevy chase go though cos he seemed like he was getting a bit fed up with it all. Think it was all a bit too PC for him. ; - )

I called it my best album purchase of 1995. More cool, sludgy riffs than I'd ever heard in one place at the time.
Rattling it through the soundbar and subwoofer as we speak. I need to cheer myself up a bit.

Next on the playlist will be an old favourite, and a change of pace.

For any Slipknot/Stone Sour/Corey Taylor fans - highly recommend this.

The whole video of the acoustic show he performed in London back in May has been released for free on the website Thumbs Up.

There's a lot of really good cover songs besides his own stuff; The Cure, Johnny Cash and all sorts.
