More Monster Magnet, baby!

Milking the Stars - A re imagining of "Last Patrol"

https://theobelisk.net/obelisk/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/monster-magnet-milking-the-stars.jpg

As always, Full Album Linky

I have another album in the post as we speak, making a total of 14 CDs by my favourite stoner act. Thumbs Up
All the more impressive that the singer Dave Wyndorf is a couple of years younger than my dad. Shocked
And my old man can barely get out of his chair these days.

Joe Satriani mix, tracks from the following albums:

Black Swans And Wormholes.
The Extremist.
Flying In A Blue Dream.
Joe Satriani.
Shockwave Supernova.
Strange Beautiful Music.
Super Colossal.
Surfing With The Alien.
Unstoppable Momentum.

plus the new release for this year, What Happens Next:

https://bluesrockreview.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/whathappensnext.jpg

Sometimes, it's nice to just not have vocals to clutter up the mind, and Joe is the only 'virtuoso' of this ilk that I like - very melodic.

And, I got the intro for "Satch Boogie" down on the guitar Smile
Fun to play. Hoping I can learn a few other bits from the track, and maybe just take the rest in my own direction. I mean, he's way over my level of ability of course, but I might be able to learn one or two nice tricks. God knows, I've got the time on my hands.

Also picked up two albums from Chickenfoot, Sammy Hagar and Joe Satriani together doing classic style hard rock. Sammy hasn't lost anything in his vocal delivery over the years, impressive considering he's something like 60 now. Glenn Hughes in Black Country Communion is the other who impresses like that, and he's what, 70?

Funny how those two bands, two of my current favourites, have similar excellent pairings, Joe Bonamassa being the guitarist in BCC...plus of course Jason Bonham on drums, which can't harm things.

I've been getting right into this band lately. They remind me of a Mars Voltary Circa Survive, and their earlier EP sounds a lot like Saosin.

I love the Manx radio TT coverage but will die if I hear their music so for tonight's practice session I've lined up GOAT to get me through the first hour.

Try listening to it five days a week for almost 14 long years. Crying or Very sad

Now suffering terrible flashbacks, I'm having to give this a spin on volume setting 11.

Seen them 3 times over the years and have not been disappointed. Best gig was with Robin Fink on guitar. Trent's always played the classics, so hopefully nothing's changed on that front. Thumbs Up

Bokassa - War On Everything EP

At least I'm trying to. My iPhone has decided that approximately 2 seconds of any given track is enough before it flips back to a podcast I was listening to last night.

I missed this release. Just smashed it on Spotify and I wasn't expecting this!

if only my eardrum wasn't perforated, I'm sure I'd enjoy this a lot more.
