I'm not and was never much of a prince fan but I like Scott Bradley's arrangement of this.

I'm off to see Scott Bradley in March. Much looking forward to it and unsure whether to dress up...

I know, I can't get into most orchestral music and enjoy a thin seam of Jazz, but honestly there are people who embrace one genre of music and it fulfils them ..sophistication doesn't come into it.

Currently listening to various guitar - overdrive - fuzz - distortion - amp - speaker combinations.

The overdrive i'm using works best with humbuckers.
The fuzz is brill with anything.
etc etc.

The idea being to setup quicker...the people with taut skin call it workflow.

….coincidentally there have been some weird coincidences.

I go to play Homosapien and a CD deck stops working then last night before his death was announced to Marc Riley the DJ he starts his show with a Buzzcocks tune and I immediately wandered if one of the members had died

I am deeply saddened by the news of Pete Shelly’s passing. Strangest night.Pre show talking Vicabout Pete. Started the show with ‘I Believe’ talking of Pete’s genius. Then the PU with rob hughes - an NME 1979 with Pete on cover. All coincidence. So sad. Bless him.

That is a bit weird. And to add to it, I was thinking about Pete Shelley at the start of the week - for absolutely no good reason whatsoever. Just mulling over a few things about the band but him in particular. Goes without saying they wrote some truly excellent songs. Lipstick is particularly good.

Today I have mostly been listening to an eclectic mix of Squeeze, Ian Dury, NIN and this dude;

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLDF8OeD-hc

I do like a bit of classical music - I'm a brass player myself (as well as a bit of woodwind, guitar and bass) and he's one of my musical heroes. Smile

We had the well known Buzzcocks songs tonight, which I admire.

We also had https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mT7JXP_F_m4 which is a less obvious favourite of mine. Power to the DJ.
