Discovered music magpie this week, £1.16 delivered.

This is my fave album of all time, the only album I LOVE every song on.

Pure pop punk perfection.

Making things in my little room rattle by staying with DnB but this time it's eastern flavoured.

Outstanding production is to be expected when Talvin Singh lays his ears on a project.

First track is a DnB track which shows you that Indie/Alternaive artists in '98 were not immune to it.

Steve Mason's earlier incarnation - King Biscuit Time.

If someone had previously said to me, "Do you like Queens of the Stone Age?" ...
I would almost certainly say, "What, who? Got no idea, don't know any of their songs..." in a fairly dismissive tone of voice.

But I am currently hearing No one Knows (R6Music) and suddenly realising it's one of my favourite shout-dance-fist-wavy tracks.

Shocked

(this is what I am like, the embarrassing unmusical friend you hate having to introduce to your buddies)

Josh Homme is a legend. That whole album (Songs for the Deaf) is fantastic. If you want heavier, go for earlier albums and Kyuss. Softer and more pop rock type stuff is later albums.

I love mixes of songs and playing them loud. I'm actually suffering bad hearing loss (hereditary) and am making the most of things before it's too late.
This is a current fave (best played loud in one go).

No way.
You are, and I mean this, cool.

I follow this thread with interest and you frickin well like what you like, adding very few genre boundaries.

You're like Andy. He doesn't listen to any radio or own any music, doesn't turn his nose up just because it's a metal track or experimental-ambient or pop...He does ask what the singer from Lamb of God is singing though. Lyrics are Andy's thing...he's a singer-songwriter.

Or Mad Mark who has a massive music collection and will switch from Grace Jones to Killing Joke and slip in a Duran Duran 12" before wigging out to Jeff Mills live in Tokyo.

Or Dr Daz who hammers my ears with the Incredible String Band and Stereolab with splashes of Wagner all at stomach moving volume.

My wife has yet to like anything I've made...her choice in music like her choice in men is utterly shite....but it does make me try harder.

Never too soon for decent music HKP.

Think the chap who did this went on to have some chart success with shy fx...I'll not hold that against him.

For lovers of breaks

T Power - the self evident truth of an intuitive mind.

Does contain Rule Britannia played on a piece of metal.

Apparently, getting rid of a soppy-looking waste of space works wonders for your song writing Laughing
