Tool is a band I'm getting ready to check out a bit more I think.

Dynamically one of the best bands making music today IMO. Best enjoyed through headphones to get the full experience.
To name a few standout tracks by them from a selection of their albums (although it's pretty much all brilliant), Stinkfist,
The Pot, AEnima, Sober, Forty Six & 2, Lateralus, Right in two, Vicarious... I should just list them all, some of the drumming
is nothing short of amazing and the time signatures can be quite bewildering (Lateralus is a fine example of this).
Also give "A Perfect Circle" a whirl, it's one of Tools singers side projects. In particular I think you'll enjoy 'Judith', 'Weak and
Powerless' and 'Three Libras'. Off to google with you... Please report back here. Thumbs Up

I think I've heard Vicarious and Judith in passing, but not enough to comment on yet, and haven't heard enough to get a fix on their sound.

The video for Judith contains (IMO) one of the hottest things I've seen a woman do. Mid interlude the female bassist Paz
ties her hair up in a bun. Gets me every time.....

https://youtu.be/xTgKRCXybSM?t=113

She's as hot as holy fvck.

Working through some of these now.
I definitely have moods that this fits.
Yeah, dynamics is a big part of their thing, like that; draws you in, makes you wonder where it will go.
Couldn't pinpoint any favourites out of these tracks so far, but just generally liking their sound.

Comment under one of the tracks:

"What time signature do you want in this?"
Tool: "Yes."

Lol.

Vicarious is definitely standing out for me.

The amazing thing is how they remember what all the changes are through a whole gig's worth of songs Laughing

Weird tuning for guitar folk, CGCGCC works well though.

Great band. Shame they couldn't work out their differences and keep going.

Not quite so weird for folk guitar though. I think it's one I've used for celtic-style acoustic tunes, or similar.

Not bad Paddy. Never heard of them before, but quite like it, and a second track from the album that came up in my feed too.
