Has anyone (or does anyone) use these with any success?
I'm only interested in the UK legal ones with lowish THC levels as i don't want to get high or feel stoned like smoking a spliff.
If you've bought a certain name brand that worked please share the website.

I know a few people who use them & swear they make a difference but personally I haven't / won't use them. I have enough issues without adding an unknown quantity into the mix.

It's be interesting to see if they are still widely used, now that the fad has worn off.

What do you want from it?

If you're just a bit CBD curious then you could try something from Holland & Barrett. https://www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/cbd/?t=brand%3Areakiro

Once you've decided what it is you actually want from the product, if high CBD content and low THC content is right then you could get something like this. https://store.montu.uk/products/adven-indica-oil-100mg-ml-cbd-7mg-ml-thc-x-30ml?_pos=13&_fid=b7930a5ba&_ss=c

Basically, I suffer from acute social anxiety and also I find it hard to relax a lot of the time and my sleep pattern is sporadic too. I just want something that will chill me out a bit with minimal side effects.

I've heard CBD is good for anxiety so I'm willing to give it a go and if it helps me sleep better too without needing to use the nasty sleeping pills my GP gives me (Zopiclone) or drinking alcohol to excess that will be a bonus too.

I read a review on the independent news site yesterday and they rated their top 5 CBD gummies that their team had actually tried and tested and at No.2 they had some high strength ones recommended (30mg) that I've ordered now and they're arriving today. I'll report back after using them for a week with my verdict.

If you've been clinically diagnosed with an acute anxiety disorder you should be getting something from your GP. Either pills (probably a light dose of anti-depressants if your GP is particularly lazy) or a recommendation to speak to someone (either CBT or psychotherapy). You might also benefit from some lifestyle and dietary analysis.

Note that unconsciousness is not actually very restful compared to proper sleep so knocking yourself out via drink or drugs is only going to make things worse. Getting proper help to find out why you're having trouble sleeping would be much better.

Alternatives might be meditation or taking up a soothing hobby like Tai Chi. Exercise and keeping fit rarely has any downsides either. I doubt CBD will do much for you beyond a placebo effect.

In my experience, people with anxiety tend to be "self-derailing" i.e. neurotic so you might ask yourself: do you want to take CBD to solve the problem or because secretly you know it won't work and that hands you another stick to beat yourself with.

He did suggest anti depressant pills about 12 months ago but I've heard of people getting addicted to those and overall they're rumoured to not be very nice long term (just like SSRI and SNRI) and, plus, he advised they would probably be pointless at the same time as excess alcohol consumption.

That was also loosely suggested to me early on in my diagnosis but due to already feeling very awkward around people (face to face or in the spotlight) I hated the idea of having to sit across a table from someone and talk, or sit in a circle with a group of strangers and tell them private things about myself, so options for me to help myself are limited. I'm starting to think I may as well just accept who I am these days and plan the rest of my life around being a recluse/hermit.

And how right he/she is. I was a zombie for several years & ate my way up to 25 stone. It really didn't improve my situation, in fact I'd go as to say it made me worse.. 10 stone worse & I hated myself even more than before.

Jesus... You could almost be me... They kept badgering me to do that CBT shit..

feel your skin against your clothes, touching the chair, which touching the floor which is part of this room, which is a part of the building which is part of the town which is a part of the country which is..

oh fuck off... just fuck off.. my head is full of enough shit without making the chair building town country a part of my thoughts!

Please please don't give up on thinking things won't change because out of the blue something might just click / unclick.

It happened with me about 10 years after my diagnosis. I can't remember the day /week or month that it happened but it did.

I then found road biking, then Mountain biking, then running & swimming... all of which I've had to give up & now I just use the turbo trainer.

Don't get me wrong, it's not plain sailing by any stretch but that light at the end of the tunnel seems a whole lot brighter than it used to.

I know I know it's easy for us to sit here spouting our brand & it might not make any difference to you but remember we are here, anonymous non faces who mean nothing (to you) in the grand scheme of things.. maybe we can offer an outlet.

Day 1 on my gummies.

Took one at about 9pm at night then settled down to watch a film on Netflix.

Nothing drastic happened over the next few hours but I fell asleep quite quick after that.

Woke up in the middle of the night dazed and confused, sweaty, and with a total loss of strength and bodily function, but very calm and at peace with myself at the same time.

Nothing conclusive yet. Just early thoughts...
