I am abit scared of my 600, I think a 125 at 80 was good. What should I do, the bike locks up sometimes too.

Don't ride at 90mph.

I presume you mean rear brake locks up?

Get some more training. Smile

You'll get used to it and before long it wont feel so bad. With the more crouched forward riding position of the 600 it will feel faster than the sit up 125 riding position. Dont worry though it will soon pass as you get more experience on the bike Thumbs Up

No. It sounds like you're too fast for you.

The bike only goes as fast as you tell it to. If you don't open the throttle so far, you wont go so fast.

I'd suggest going to a industrial estate and practicing the set manouvers you did for your test. Slow riding, U-turn, slalomn, emergency stop. It'll give you a feel for the weight and balance of the bike, how much the brakes bite and how responsive the controls are.

Get used to the brakes too. It's sometimes even worth having a careful practice at locking the brakes one at a time to give yourself an idea how much they bite and how much you can push your luck with the grip. Just do it slowly to start with and in a straight line and don't come crying to me if you drop it.

If you can't ride it slow, you shouldn't try to ride it fast.

And repeat after me "Smooth, smoooth, smooooth." because that's how you should be riding. The throttle is an analogue control, you wind it on and you wind it off, it should be constantly moving as you're riding about, not either wide open or fully shut like you do on a 125. Try riding in a lower gear and controlling your speed using the throttle by gradually winding it on and off.

EDIT: This Japanese gymkhana rider is showing superb throttle control.

Locks up? How? What are you doing when it locks up?

As for the 90mph lark, goto to a "private" road with a few mates and get used to going at a decent speed.

Dont worry, i shit myself for the 1st 10secs of giving it beans on my zxr after the 125.

Later on that night i hit 120 and it was awesome.

Although the Super Corsa 3's in the wet did make me shiet my pants a fair few times. Plus it did lose the rubber and went into the metal strip thing.

I'm sorry Mr Yamamoto, you only reached 49kph in the swerve test.

I thought there was something odd. I was thinking Minh has ridden for years. But after a long evening in work I was too knackered to question much more so replied Laughing

:p

Well yeah I think it is weird that two guys have sports 600's and question if it is too fast for them. Like some research would help or what do they expect from a bike that can do 80 odd in first and 0-60 in 3 secs or so?

I thought perhaps they were trolling but who knows. I guess biking is not for everyone!
