I accidentally snapped a bolt that was holding my guard on the exhaust, and half of its now stuck in the hole where the bolt goes. There's no way I'm going to be able to get it out Sad
So do I really need it on the exhaust?

How corroded is the broken bolt? chances are since theres now nothing putting pressure on the threads it will just unscrew with a flathead screw driver, had it before where i snapped a bolt a mates his rear brake caliper, just stick a screwdriver in against the snapped bolt and unscrewed it.

What?

That makes no sense, if it was sticking out you could use molegrips, because it isn't drill it. Why wouldn't you drill it?

The screw is so thin, that if I did drill out I'd ruin the whole thing and I wouldn't have anything left to put a screw in.
Might just put the exhaust guard on, then super glue the other half of the screw, so it connects with the other half and holds the guard in place.
Although I'm really not that fussed whether I get it back on or not.

At worst just drill a pilot hole and use a self tapper to hold it in. If both parts are steel then get someone to weld it.

as others have said, drill it out, take you 5mins with the correct tools. ( a drill & a cobalt or other decent bit)
if you do mess it up & make the hole too big or wreck the old internal threads, cut new threads & use a bigger size of bolt?
another 5mins with the correct tools. (tap + die set)
or just dodge it on with metal cable tie type things. (cant remember the correct name of them, its late & Im p*ssed)
cheers,
GAZ
