Okay i managed to get my carb on my aprilia rs 125 cleaned using ultra sound as it was causing problems. Fitted it on normally.

The bike runs and starts fine, the only problem is that when in first gear, the revs drop and dies.
I have to hold the choke down a little bit to get off in first after that the bike runs normally with choke off. Only when it comes to first gear :S confused. (I have tried idling it at over 1500, gets to a point where the idle screw is all the way in)

Anyone know whats happening here?

It wont pull very well when the engine is cold, especially if the rings are worn and it' due a rebuild. wait for it to get up to operating temp before trying to ride it, that usually means 30 seconds or so of idling with the choke off.

Yh i warm it up to around 50 on the temp gauge.

Even after ive rode a few mins whenever i stop and its in first and i need to move off it just dies out.

All over gears are fine and thottle cable is fine.
Checked airbox and thats all sealed up tight.

I did a compression test 120 psi. So dont think rebuild is the issue.

It's because you used ultra-sound to clean the carb (thought everyone knew this old problem). The metal is still resonating at a molecular level and will for months, which causes the gas (petrol) to become unstable at the same level (kind of areate) and not burn properly.

Bloody hell I didn't know this... any way to speed it up? I cant even fathom this sound like sifi beam me up scotch sort of tech that could cause it. I understand the vibration are high frequency and are hell of intense but really a few months to get back normal stability ?

it could still be that, your describing symptons that are only occuring at the low part of your rev range. Did you change any settings? Mess around with your pilots or float height?

Yh i have a feeling its the jetting at lower revs. The stock setting for aprilia Rs125 restricted has setting of i think,
the starter jet is 65, main jet is 165 and the others i cnat remember but its not stock settings.
