I knew a guy that used to do that to me. A so called mate would call "I'm gettin up now" or "I'm going to bed now" That kind of thing. In the end I got so pissed off with it I called him at his place of work and said I was his brother to get a hold of him as they didnt allow personal calls.

"I'm going to work now" And hung up. He tried to have a go later that night when he got home but he never called with his crap again.

In the old days you used to be able to leave the phone off the hook to prevent mid sleep disturbances. I assume some of these old type phones are still in existence.

Similar principle for the mobile phone.

Consult manual to locate the "off" button.
