I've had an engine swap on my ZZR and managed to bag myself some stainless downpipes which are currently being fitted to my stock end cans - it got me thinking about new exhausts and I've found these:

https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ZZR600-ZZR400-Exhaust-Silencers-200mm-Carbon-Race-/330497265056?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item4cf32c0da0#ht_2918wt_1139

Would they be hard to fit? whats actually involved?

Karma available for anyone who can help ! Karma

Thanks,

Perry

Undo a few clamps, a bolt from the hangar and it's off. Really easy. New cans normally come with fitting instructions anyway.

The most difficult it could be is if there is an exhaust gasket required, but this seems pretty rare with aftermarket downpipes and end cans and is still very simple.

Unbolt hanger and loosen clamps, pull off endcan.

If a gasket is on there, unbolt hanger, loosen clamps, pull off exhaust and peel/pull off gasket.

To fit, apply the new gasket (if required), arrange end can and link pipe roughly into position over the gasket and in the hanger. Wiggle the end can and link pipe into position so that it clears things like the brake caliper, swingarm, centre stand etc etc and is at a good angle (i.e. not pointing out to the side etc) and tighten up the clamps and bolts.

Would take you about 10 minutes and that includes finding your tools. Exhaust gaskets can be a PITA as they are fragile but I seriously doubt your can will require one.

P.S. That can looks very very loud and won't be road legal so it'll need to be switched back when it is MOT time and you might get pulled every now and again by the plod. Don't couple it with a mirrored visor and a tiny plate or go anywhere near north wales and you will prob be fine most of the time though.
