And fuck me that thing shifts.
I passed my test last week and only just today got on the bugger, due to insurance/tax/bike dying issues.
But it was all worth it.
Failing the test twice, waiting for tax and insurance and to fix the bike...it was all worth it.
Went out with me mum (She insisted... after all she paid for everything) and did about 1/3 a mile in total...had to go home and have a cigarette. Power difference from a YBR125 made me shake like a leaf (Inb4 man up)
Went out after a ciggie and it felt perfect. Great bike, excellent power delivery (although I have to keep an eagle eye on the speedo!) and overall I'm fucking chuffed.
Will get pictures tomorrow!
Now that was a Cool story Bro. ____________________ Willson - "If you go out on that CBR600 in the winter, you're going to do more miles on your side than on your wheels."

I took my Mum (pensioner) as pillion when i got my 1st big bike. She screamed so much louder compared to when i took her on the 250. She was convinced we had broken the ton but had her eyes screwed shut. ____________________ Diabolical homemade music Bandcamp and Soundcloud

I was riding carefully whilst still making progress....really smooth...Yet she still squealed like a teenager, and was shaking when we'd finished the 6mile journey...Then i took her back. ____________________ Diabolical homemade music Bandcamp and Soundcloud

I remember my first go on my CBR600 all those years ago, was truly fantastic. had my heart in my mouth for the first ten minutes before I gunned it up the bypass.

Remember that feeling too, after picking up my gixer, pootling my way around colchester with my mate following, just enjoying the feeling, testing the power, unable to believe what it had.
Then, within 20 seconds of getting on my first NSL road, making a ridiculous overtake, 3 cars in one go with a car oncoming. Stupid, but brilliant!
Then getting onto the A12 for the first time, on the way to show the girlfriend, about to properly give it the beans and see what she'd do, dropped a couple of gears, and then spotted the big traffic cop Discovery parked up and waiting for just such an idiot as me, lucky escape!
Have fun! ____________________ McGee - "When I go to the mall and see all the high school girls, I have to have DO NOT TOUCH THE GIRLS written on my hand. Every time I go to grope I see it and stop."

Still remember first time I picked up the GS500, nice summers day.. had never ridden bigger than 125.
Rode very carefully for about 5 miles to get used to the instant oomph on throttle then got to the motorway.
Oh yes, being able to go into the outside lane and do a happy 90mph
The novelty of going fast does disappear, takes time but it does...So much so im back on 125s till i can be bothered to go up to something like a 400, nothing pokey or stupidly ridiculous...just cruise comfortably.. im getting old |

I think my course of bike ownership is keeping the novelty there well and truly....
125 - slow but felt fast at the time.
Bandit 400 restricted - felt like a bloody rocket for a few months
Then the restrictors fell out - felt like a nasa rocket!
Then on to a Bandit 6, felt really powerful for aaages
And now on to the vfr 750, completely different than the previous IL4's. Had a fucked clutch since i got it but still felt rapid!
Changed the clutch last weekend and its improved it sevenfold, feels like a new bike, love it!
Might go for a big leap next, zx12r ____________________ preivious : 2007 Skyjet 125 (died), 1991 gsf400 (problems, rotting in garden)

I miss that feeling, the CBR still makes me smile, but no where near as much as the first time i took the other one out, 11bhp to 100bhp was crazy, caught me out a few times though, especially accelerating to overtake a car, you find the bike just doesn't steer round it.
Be careful dude and go out without your mum ____________________ 2017 KTM 350 XC-F - 2014 Yamaha R6 - 2005 Yamaha YZ125

This was exactly my experience!
I passed my test on the 27th Jan of this year on an ER6n. And during my lessons I tried to give it the beans whenever possible. The bike was rapid and going from my 125cc Chinese bike (bought simply to practice for my test) it was like being hurtled along in a space shuttle. I think the ER6n has roughly ~60bhp.
I've now got my Yam Thundercat on the road, took it out straight after I got back from passing my test and took it a run. Holy moley, I still cant get away with the power in the thing. It's like being strapped to a scud missile. I've let to pin it in anything lower than 3rd gear.
Dont think I will ever forget that first trip on the 'cat...

I'm yet to experience my first big bike power, but it's inching closer. Passed my test on the 1st of Oct last year, bought a GPZ 500 in Nov that needed some work. Bad weather and laziness since then has meant that pretty much fuck all got done till recently. But it's now sanded for painting, new chain is here, sprockets on their way, oil is ready to go in, as is filter, need to de-rust the swingarm and a few patches on the frame a little more, then after painting she'll be ready. 10bhp to 60bhp... i'm looking forward to this. The bike has TOTALLY skint me, but I'm guessing it's gonna be worth it
Closest i've had to a jump in power was from a shit 50 scooter (slow even for a 50) to a nice torquey 125. Even that impressed me!
Actually, after writing this I think i'm gonna turn the laptop off, get out of bed and do some more work on the 500 ____________________ 57 Huoniao HN125-8 - , 97 Kawasaki GPZ500S -

I remmember this feeling, when i first got on gixxer 600 and then twisting the throttle to the full in 2nd gear. Had a smile on my face for the rest of the day. ____________________ Theory Passed: 23/10/2008 49/74 Bike Test Passed: 05/01/2009 1 minor

I had to get off and have a sit down the first time I pushed my 350 powervalve into the powerband after rolling on in third gear.
It was the 80mph power wheelie that did it. I got a huge row off my Dad who was watching as I went past with my legs flapping in the breeze.
I tried to explain to him that it was the bike, not me and that I was merely a passenger. He never really believed me until he bought a KH350 and had a similar experience himself.
Such a shame that the new generation no longer have their first experience on a big bike as trying to cling onto a totally banzai stroker which is intent on beating them round the head with the top-yoke. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink.
