I have seen universal ones in Halfrauds.

Are they any cop, or should I be purchasing bike specific ones?

The Halfraud ones would be purley out of convenience. Didn't want to waste my time on them if they're not worth it.

They are just cheapo screws and well nuts.

A well nut is the rubber bit with a brass insert, as you screw the screw into it the brass moves up causing the rubber to expand. You can get well nuts for cheap on eBay and you can get st/st allen head bolts to fit them for cheap too.

Halfords will almost certainly be fine if they fit, they aren't exactly high load structural items.
