Just bought this exhaust and downpipes:

But when I have fitted the two parts together I have small air gaps around two of the bolt holes like below:

What can I do to get rid of these gaps? I was thinkinging washers underneath at first but then I realised that would create a gap the thickness of the washer all the way around.

Also, should I use exhaust paste between downpipe, end can and adapter?

In the past I've used either a small blob of exhaust paste or an asbestos washer, with a metal washer over the top to hold it in place

There shouldn't be a gap, if you use the washers directly under the stud head ? Neutral

A washer underneath the allen bolt.

Use firegum to assemble it all together. It works as a lube when your fitting it together then it expands when heated filling any gaps that may be there. No problem at all to take apart afterwards.

I have the stubby stainless version of that can fitted to the Bandit - and it's one fantastic throaty, deep sound compared to the OEM
