intake for a carb

im doing a project and may not be able to use the orignal intake pipe and air box. its a KTM lc4 engine.

my question is, how important is it to keep the original designed intake system, in terms of volume or air box, length volume and diameter of pipe between carb and air box.

im hoping to try to use the original air box but the pipe will most likely be different.

i reckon the volume is most important followed by the diameter of the intake pipe due to how the carb actually works

if anyone has any proper knowledge of these things i would be grateful

The carb will be jetted to the airbox and intake design. Expect to be rejetting if you change it. also they spent a hell of a lot of money on the intake system to get it working good. So try to keep close as you can to it.
