So, this is the first time I'll be changing the rear pads on my Varadero 125. As I've never bought any pads before is there any brands that are favourable and which brands should I be avoiding?

Cheers Thumbs Up

I've had a few brands before, but on lower power bikes I find Goldfren a good balance between price and performance. Had EBC sintered on the Ninja but that could well be overkill for a 125.

Goldfren can be found pretty cheaply on eBay.

Rear pads, so less vital than the front. I don't go for a specific make, just whatever's cheap. I tend to use HH on the front and standard on the back, don't want the rear brake being too sharp seeing as it's mostly just to settle the rear end.

Better to save some money on the pads and put the extra towards giving the calipers a good clean and changing the brake fluid.

I can vouch for the Gold Fren pads, never had any trouble with them in the past, either with customer's bikes or my own.

Yeah theres plenty of Goldfren pads for my bike on ebay, along with the EBC sintered ones. I ended up going for the Goldfren one's. I should really have asked if Goldfren or EBC were good choices in my original post.

Oh well, you live and learn I suppose.

Cheers guys, you've been a great help, but then again thats what we're all here for - To help each other out... Thumbs Up Mr. Green
