hi,

Recently bought a '02 CB500 s from ebay for £2325 with only 110 miles on the clock.

What oil is needed for this model and how often does the oil need changing?

This is my first "Big" bike so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Dan

Hi i think its 4000mile, but your honda service book will tell you for sure. id always use a decent semi sythetic like say Castrol GPS, and it will be fine. Its an easy bike to do oil changes and general maintainence on, as its all so accessible. Worst thing on me dads CB, was that air filter changes required the one crash bar to be removed/ loosened, but otherwise its really quick and easy to get to.

As it's so new, it should have a 500 mile service, including an oil change and general checking that everything's alright. After that, stevo is correct - every 4000 miles.

If you don't have the manual that should come with it, get yourself a Haynes - it'll have all the details of the services in it.
