Mine for absolutely no reasons other than they bore the hell out of me when ever I see them or read reviews.

Arrow CBR600F
Arrow SV600 / 650
Arrow Thundercat

I know that they are good bikes and people love them as either a first bike or as a dependable work horse, but I just couldn't bring myself to ask for a ride of them to actually see if my opinions were proven right or wrong.

Has anyone been so against a bike but after a little ride they converted and did a U turn on their opinions?

I agree with the Honda CBR 600F Thumbs Up and think the Honda CB series is also very boring (CB250 & CB500 are both hideously ugly) as well as the Suzuki GS500 although the F model is a lot better to look at.

Ninja's. I know a lot of peep's here have them and I'm gonna get Karma raped for this, but think they're all hideously fugly.

Harley's.
Older Triumph's etc..
General cruisers.

I'd ride a Ninja and be open minded but the looks....*shiver* Although, there is a guy on here with a blue one in his avatar which looks half ok.
Confused

Well I never usually dismiss bikes out of hand like that. Especially when I don't even know anything about them.

I don't particularly like cruisers, but if I was offered a go on one, I wouldn't refuse.

Often my most memorable rides have been on bikes I wouldn't normally try, and occasionally I've even gone out and bought the bike that I rode. (Buell, TZR250).

Don't dismiss the SV. The Thundercat and the CBR are both 4 cylinder 600cc sportsbikes who have been relogated to sports tourer status. They are both good bikes. You can have fun on both of them. I don't dislike either of them, but I'd rather ride something else every day.

However the SV has something special. Possibly because its a low capacity Japanese V twin and there aren't many of those around. Possibly because its just a hoot to ride. I really like bikes that you don't have to ride at 130mph to feel like they are doing something. The SV falls into that category.

If someone told me tomorrow that I had to sell the blade and buy an SV I wouldn't be that upset because you can use one as a blank canvas to build something pretty special. They have a good solid frame, a nice motor which is tuneable and the potential to have some great suspension. I reckon a 650 with a GSXR front end, a 750cc bore kit, a decent shock and some sticky tyres could rival most bikes in terms of grin factor.

I'd even ride something like a Fat Boy or a Honda VTX1800. I have a good idea that I probably wouldn't like them, but I certainly wouldn't refuse a go on that basis.

They are basically just no frills, no nonsense fun.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

None to be honest. I'd ride any. Very Happy None that I can think of anyway.

I can relate to the CBR600F though...particularly the jellymould versions, they did put some incredibly dodgy paintjobs on those things...and still people bought them. Neutral

Any BMW, Cant stand the look of them, they are superior machines and we should all love them, but a lot of us dont, I hate them.

Goldwings I cant stand either, but the plain Jane models look ok.

Big capacity scooters, they look absolutely hideous, small scooters look fine as they are what they are, but big scooters? come on, they need banning.

Anything with pedals as well.

The bike I would love above all bikes ever even the 98 R1 as it would chew it up on tick over, is a nice mint lawson rep.

Ducati's except for the monster, they are a nice bike.
Rat bikes, thats a bit of a tough one, they have to be ultimatly unique like a really well done streetfighter.
but i'd ride anything, even a blandit.

I don't think they're ugly, but they are a commuter/tourer?

I did my DAS for the most part on a GS500 with huge wide and low renthals.

They really transformed the feel of the bike compared to the stock bars and gave it a much more agressive riding position, my ZZR felt like I was hanging onto the forks in comparision.

My marmite bike would probably be a duke 999, I lust after one despite the fact that it likely wouldn't suit me one little bit.

On the otherhand, there are some fugly bikes out there that I wouldn't want to touch despite the fact that they are likely perfectly decent. Multistrada/GSXF Teapot/Various Jap monster cruisers etc.

But the runner 125 isn't raly a 'stroker', The NSR/RS/MITO's are strokers, the runner is a 2t scooter, I know by definition it's the same, but really..... it's just a scooter(no offense Ciaran lol). You be on a 125 sports stoker? if not then do so, will change your mind. Thumbs Up

Put a cbr125 next to a real stroker like a NSR125 or a mito 125, or if desperate an RS125, and you will see just how skinny the CBR125 is. Not to mention slow.. give me a screamer any day over a farting cbr.

For me I really just don't like the look of gsxrs.
