Someone has tried explaining this to me before but it made no sense.

Do you have a link for the film ? If you do, click on it and download it. It really should be that simple.

The utorrent program will sit passively on your system until you select a torrented item to download, at which point the program will automatically fire-up and handle it for you. I recommend you use BTJunkie as your source for torrents. Never 'save', always 'open'.

Thanks for the info, would give karma but I'm a lowly one blobber.

Looks like I've got the film name wrong anyway so I'm currently getting white noise instead.

Does anyone have any links to decent british film torrents?

New question....

I've now got one downloaded, how do I play it?

Tried double clicking it but it came up in the standard windows player and gave me the noise, but just showed that trancey weird stuff it does with music.

Real player said it needed to search for updates then said there were no updates to support this file.

PS....

Most things computer need explaining delicately to me.

Edit.....and yes cheers boulevard is the one.

Sounds like you've downloaded a bogus file, of which there are thousands. BTJunkie lets you see if a file is genuine or not.

I wouldn't say bogus file, I would say he hasn't got the correct codecs. Your media player needs a codec to play each type of media file.

Google "VLC media player" download that and open the film you downloaded in vlc and it should work.

Every single verified movie I've downloaded from BTJunkie so far, bar two*, worked out of the box on my system.

* Sound didn't work on the PC but did on the TV.
