Father in law knows someone selling a '96 blade (918cc) for £1k.

All i know is it is owned by a 50 something year old guy who has ridden most of his life and always maintains his bike and rides in fair weather only.

The bike has sat since October 2010. Has around 40k miles with tax and test till May. It has new tyres... It also has a hugger and some form of carbon can.

The father in law says it looks clean but has only seen it in the dark in a garage (he also rides, currently a '10 plate bandit 1250).

Its this model and colour scheme:

Any info on what these are worth in good, bad and ugly condition and what to look out for would be appreciated!

If any problems do come up - www.fireblades.org is the place to go to for help.

It's the usual honda thing that goes - age affects the bikes pretty badly, so by that, it's alternators and reg/rec units that go on blades and occasionally bits and pieces of the loom. Saying that, my mechanic at Bransons Honda says that it's a common problem on all <04 blades. Mechanically, there shouldn't be any problems really.

Zoom to the bottom of this article to find out about the 100000 miler foxeye blade! It STILL looks mint! If it's been cared for by a mature owner, then I doubt that any expense has been spared on it!
