I have little to no knowledge about computer virus's etc, i seem to have got a virus or spyware on my profile, it doesnt affect the other 2 profiles on the comp just mine.
Im running windows xp (yes very outdated)
and all i have is microsoft essentials, i have done 2 full scans and picked up a trojan horse but whenever i sign into my profile microsoft essentials doesnt open and some other virus scanner keeps popping up, which isnt on the compter so i assumed was the virus so i didnt accept anything.

Try this very good malware/spyware/virus software detection/removal program as I personally think it's amazing and FREE, and why it's free because you have to buy it if you want automatic updates with continual protection.
Once installed, run the update to get the latest version of anti virus/malware known list, then run at Full Scan. So just run it when ever you suspect foul play!

Google the name of the thing and you'll find some info.
Bleeping computer has good guides to get rid of them manually if the first stop Malwartebytes can't do it. |
