I know the saying goes 'buy cheap, buy twice' but, I've come across this jacket:

https://www.hein-gericke.co.uk/shop/images/Ross/Speedblouson300.jpg

link: https://www.hein-gericke.co.uk/shop/product_info.php/cPath/1_15_7/products_id/8225

It's in Hein Gericke being sold for £40, and comes in a variety of colours/patterns and has all the fittings *taking from HG website*

Quote:

Function: Water-repellent exterior, width adjustment on waist and jacket hem, thermal lining, 2 external pockets, 1 Inner pocket, 1 Napoleon pocket.

Protection: HIPROTEC® CE-approved protecors can be fitted on shoulder and elbow, SAFE® stitch seams.

Construction: Exterior: 100% polyester, lining: 100% polyester, insulation: 100% polyester.

I'm going to HG tomorrow, as I need a cheap jacket for getting to work on and feel the one I have at the moment ([quote]a Neowell touring jacket) is a bit much to wear especially as during the rainy season (9 out of 12 months in the UK) as when its wet it weighs a tonne.

Anyone ever owned or seen it in the flesh or have an opinion on it?

Corrected.

My waterproof overpants and jacket were £15 for the pair and are completely bone dry in any weather the north east has thrown at me.

Paying more money and expecting to automatically get better quality is a trait of a fool or someone who's very old fashioned and not in the slightest aware of how the modern world works.

I'd bet my cock that you're ENTIRELY safe buying that jacket.

Haha, nice. I was hoping for some good answers.

It will be mainly used for work/around town rides, anything further out and I'll use my normal jacket. Will hopefully grab it tomorrow and post up what it looks like in person and feels like incase any others fancy a bargain. Smile
