My accelerator cable snapped this morning, luckilly for me, just outside my garage.

After a bit of scrap heap challange style rummaging in the garage of doom its back on the road and my kids going to be asking why her gears don't work on her bike tomorrow.

Its a childs Mountain bike gear cable threaded though the old casing and then tied tightly onto the throttle control.

seemed a bit more responsive on the way in though.

If it ever happens when you're out you can turn the tickover up and ride using the clutch and gears as a 'get you home'. Got me off a motorway once when the throtttle cable snapped on my FJ12.

I see your chain exhaust clamp and raise you a head light held on with a bodged bicycle light bracket, a jubilee clip, and half an old rubber glove.

You will also notice if you look carefully, that the bicycle bracket wasn't long enough, so we extended it with half a fence bracket on each side and two bolts on each side to hold it in place. You can just about see the fence bracket poking up in the second picture.
