When I acquired my ped, it had mud all over the underside, which I have managed to clean off, but there's still mud on the top of the carb and surroundings.

Anyone got any cleaning techniques?

There's loads of hard to reach places, which are quite close to the fuel and oil hoses. Don't want to go damaging one Crying or Very sad

Cheers Thumbs Up

Ride the booldy thing. Wink

Fuel lines will don't come loose by just touching them.

Spray some WD40 on the area and then rinse off while using a paint brush.

I've been riding it for the past 2 months Wink

Seems whoever had it last, decided to ride it through a bloody forest or something similar Laughing

I find that 'Gunk' in a spray bottle normally removes dirty and general crap well. I will spray it on, and then spray WD40 on after very generously. Seems to work nicely!

A tooth brush is also good for the hard to reach areas.

Hope that helps.

If it is well covered in crud, then give it a good soaking and get the worst off. Then use some WD40 or degreaser and as above use a toothbrush. Thumbs Up

Finally got round to cleaning it today...Smile
I was tempted by the nice weather to go out for a Sunday afternoon ride, but I couldn't leave it any longer.
Used a mini-screwdriver, cutlery knife, tooth brush and a bit of GT85.
It wasn't just the carb that was covered in crap. Loads of it under the mudguard. (As you'd expect) Kicked up a right sand storm Laughing
3 and a half hours later and it's not looking too bad Cool
