Hi all,

Im new to this, say hi everybody! Very Happy

I have just purchased a a secondhand 2002 Aprilia Leonardo 250 scooter, it has 29000km on the clock which is around 18000miles...i know bit high but i have heard of scoots going to 50000miles.

i did the usual checks, forks, suspension, disks, electrics etc etc i even had a quick ride around the local roads, pulled well etc.

when i went to take it home, i had to go on the motorway, so i pulled away, thinking because its a 250cc it should have some oomph...well it seemed to just go to 70mph with the engine sounding like it was high revving, like it needed to change gear or something. obviously its an auto so i cant.

i have googled these scoots and it seems other leonardo 250's should go to 80mph with ease, prob maximum 85mph.
i literally just sold a 125 vespa and that did 70mph, but obviously acceleration wasnt as quick.

im not a mechanic, i can litterally just do the basics like servicing (oils etc lol) and have spent the little dosh i had for this which seems to be a piece of crap lol
all help will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance guys! Thumbs Up
