hi i am just a newbie and hope someone could give me some advice on what could be causing my rear brakes coming on when i turn my piaggio zip 50 to the right, when i bought it (second hand) it seemed fine even now when i ride it it seems ok but when i am pushing it out of the garage and turn the handlebars right the rear brake comes on (only when turning right)
i have tried to search the web for an answer but as of yet i havent had any luck.

If the wiring loom goes out onto the handlebar area somewhere, and gets moved when you turn the handlebars, odds are you have a broken or poor connection with a wire. Could be a ground that loses connection and grounds itself out through another wire, or just a live touching a ground and turning the lights on.

If the loom goes to the left of the bars/headstock, odds are it's pulling a connection apart somewhere when you stretch it while turning the bars right. I've had this on my bike before. To test I normally just squeeze/wiggle the loom to find out the part that's causing the problem, then cut open the loom sheathing (or just untape it if it's taped) and solder in some new wire if it needs it.

Do you mean the rear brake or the rear brake light?

If it is the rear brake (I assume bar mounted brake lever and a cable operated rear brake) then make sure that the cable fitted is the correct length and isn't being pulled by parts of the bike when you turn the bars.

Sounds like the rear brake cable isn't routed properly so when you turn the bars it is being tugged or bent making the brake engage.

If it is the rear light but not the brake then do as suggested above Thumbs Up .

thanks for your help it was not the brake lights but the brake itself

and after further investigation turns out to be the brake adjuster
