Hey everyone!

Riding home from work most nights really isn't that much fun, mainly when you consider that the light from the front bulb gets pushed aside if you hold a candle next to it Laughing Laughing

Any suggestions which bulb I might be able to pop in to make a difference? I appreciate its only 6V so its never going to be blinding but any sort of improvement is better than none Wink

I have had the best results on my YBR (which uses the same bulb as the CG) with the Halfords 35/35 ba20d halogen bulb.

Agreed, The same goes for my XR its the same bulb and upgrading to halogen is the only way forward. my bulb has lasted 15,000+ miles (2 years) as well

Hey everyone Smile

Looking at that link, the bulb doesnt have the "Circle" surround near the bottom of the bulb. On the CG setup this stops it from going through to the lens... Suggestions?

Beam focused correctly, You mean I can't get better than 25w/25w?

Can I not get a different style bulb and fashion on the circle?

Ok - With no replys I just thought I would have a tinker anyway...

A chopped wiring loom, replacement fuse and a H4 connector and voila - I am now running a 65Watt H4 bulb instead of a 25 watt candle thing...

Tested at various revs and a ride out of an hour with bulb on suggests its not going to suddenly try and kill me Smile

Pictures if you want?

Like? All indicators etc all worked on the journey, only kickstart so no worries regarding elec start?

Myself personally im glad I managed the mod, its made the bike a lot more safe (in respect of seeing at night)

Pictures up ASAP Smile

It wasn't to hard, the biggest challenge was modifying the new bulb to fit the holder in the CG lens, and working out what wires on the H4 connector corresponded to the wires on the loom from the original connector.

Definitely 200 maybe 300% better though, white light V yellow light is crappyness indeed :p
