I'm a chef so of course I have. If your lobster was chewey then it was over cooked.

Sadly though I'm allergic to sea food so it made me barf. Still a waste of a meal though Laughing

We used to get them into one of the hotels every weekend for the weekend menu and would race them. Both lobster and crab. We'd all chose our racer and the winner got to watch his friends die before being thrown into the pot.

Haha thats a bit harsh like. I love lobster, but only fresh lobster, Aldi over the road sells frozen lobster. Smaller than the smallest claw on the sea-more. It's not very nice either.

It was serious competition. Money was wagered and the noise in the kitchen was deafening as these lobsters and crabs were being cheered on.

The race was over after a set distance or the head chef got bored and grabbed the crustacian that was leading declaring it the winner. We even had a worktop beside the pot to set the winner on so he could watch his mates getting boiled.

Now days though animal cruelty would be onto us for that. your now supposed to put them in the freezer until they fall asleep before throwing them into the pot.

Deads dead from where I look and it doesnt matter how they died. They cant complain!

To be fair I did avoid chewing as much as possible as it tastes rank, but the price of the meal I kinda had to eat it, it wasn't really chewy just reminded me of eating prawns, and they are ming too.

They aren't poisonous but they do spoil very quickly, especially around the gills which releases chemicals into the body, some people lob(ha) the head off to slow down the process.
