Are hand guards good for keeping hands warm? (with heated grips).
I understand handle bar muffs are better for the purpose, but hand guards looks better for me.
I have all weather glove and winter glove. If I wear winter glove, I usually don't feel my hands chilly with heated grips on, but I don't like winter gloves(They spoil my control).

Nice young gent in The North Section uses 'substantial' handguards with heated grips. He seems to get by on most cold days.
The weather is up n down, so i favour muffs that can be put on/off in seconds...I hate the bloody things even tho they function perfectly (expected the brake lever to be pushed at motorway speeds)
Sometimes it's just warm enough for summer gloves and muffs, but with size 9 hands in winter gloves...in muffs. I not happy. ____________________ Diabolical homemade music Bandcamp and Soundcloud

I found my old winter gloves were not warm enough to keep my hands warm when the weather got cold so I threw some milk bottles over the handle bars (DIY hand guards) and they kept my hands mighty warm!
this being said though, they did cover my hands pretty thoroughly

I have some fitted along with hot grips and been able to to long rides without my hands getting too cold. |
Thanks! I got how hand guards works compared to muffs.
Muffs are better for warming hands
Hand guards are good for prevent hands from being cold quickly.

That must be a good point all through the year. Like on the way of long tourings.

I don't like it either.I have muffs but I haven't used them much after they pushed levers.
