basically ive just bought a Honda CBF600SA 2006 and it doesnt start (i did know before i bought it ;o) ) Its been sat in a garage for about a year not started. It turns over for a few minutes but then the battery dies so ill need a new battery because its annoying me charging it up every day. Ive replaced the spark plugs because they were disgusting, emptied the fuel tank (and refilled it) tried to bump start it etc but nothing seems to work. I really dont wanna take it to a garage because i'll probably get ripped off for something i can do myself Very Happy any help is great!! thanks

Here's a link for appropriate battery!

Possibly adding fuel treatment along with it to help clean system may avoid dismantling the carbs to clean the crap out from the jets if it still doesn't keep on running smoothly!

My GPZ was exactly the same when i bought it.

It's just blocked jets, get them out and give them a good soaking with carb cleaner, should fire up after that.

there is absolutely no point changing the battery (unless you've ran it flat quite a few times...).

Just sort out the carbs before trying it again, charge the battery up, make sure you're getting fuel and a spark and try to start it.

If that doesn't work, there's a few more things to check, but don't worry about that just now - go for the obvious.

If you need a hand cleaning out the carbs, i've got a video somewhere that can help you.
