I'm pretty sure its just a concept, and that developing an engine which runs upside down, would be way too big development costs with not much benefit. It's a gimmick for a concept.

Don't like certain bits of it:

- the length of swingarm is a little too long imo (unless there is a particular reason for it being so long? or is it just me thinking it looks really long?)

- the seat Laughing

- the exhaust pipe is ugly and too far away from the bike, giving an 'unclean' look towards the middle/end of the bike.

- needs pazzo's or the cheap levers from ebay. The stock looking ones would get binned when it gets delivered to my house.

- there is a mount for a brake caliper on the right fork, yet no disk or caliper, point?

I'm aware this is just a prototype, but they should think about the little things... Confused

High center of gravity isn't a problem, in fact it helps the bike corner, though it can make it more difficult to turn in.
The main point seems to be to get the 'bottom end' of the engine where the frame on a normal bike would be allowing the use of the stiffest part of the engine as the frame without making it impossible to get at the cylinders. Having the hottest part of the engine lower down also stops the air intake from heating up and places the cylinders in the air flow.

With the big manufacturers having tried transverse, length ways engines along with boxers, engines on their side and even reverse cylinders, engines with half the cylinders reversed, backwards running etc etc, you can bet your ass they thought of upside down, and that there's some very good reasons for not doing it Razz

Old Thread Alert!

The last post was made 14 years, 362 days ago. Instead of replying here, would creating a new thread be more useful?
