help with bandit 400 problems doing my head in :(

i bought a 91 bandit ltd ed running fine got it home starter ran fine next day however problems started Sad

it is a wierd problem sometimes the bike starts and runs fine but most of the time the bike trys to turn over like the battery is flat then it will kick in and start??

its not the battery as it also does it when i have another fully charged battery or even if i try and jump it off my car just sounds like battery is flat ?

you can here the starter relay clicking is that normal have cleaned up the battery terminals and replaced a wire that looked damaged but still the same any help as really want to hit the roads with it

check all conections from battery starter solinoid starter motor then all earths if still the same after there all cleaned time for a new starter motor

ok i will check that i have just ordered a starter relay thinking it was that did not think about the starter motor

is there a way to check the starter motor at all??

also any idea were to get one from cant find a bandit 400 starter motor on ebay

Probably not the starter motor, but just in case, GSXR400 ones are the same.

i will have a look at connections morra weather permitting blowing a gale up here hahahaha

is there any earth in particular that are suspect ?

Might be worth checking the brushes on the motor and if they're knackered, fitting new ones. Trouble with buying a used starter is that it might be just as worn out as the one you're replacing.

I take it you're aware of the 400 Bandits poor reputation for reliability Question
